Executive
The SFUO has six executive positions.
Board of administrators
For the first time in its history, Board members of the SFUO will be directly elected. In past years, representatives of federated bodies (Law, Arts, Engineering) would be the members of the board. This year, against all odds, this executive was able to push a reform to have all members elected directly during the SFUO elections. In total, 25 positions are up for grabs.
Both student newspapers largely ignored these races, but they are interesting, especially the one in Arts, where there are basically two slates.
Largely, this Board will be the one controlling the agenda next year, and even though the races went largely ignored by the media, they will most likely be much more relavent in the coming years than they are this year.
Federated bodies
Federated bodies are the equivalent of local student associations. Arts, Law, Engineering, Education, etc. Since the SFUO works as a "Federation", these "Federated bodies" are largely autonomous from the SFUO, even though they do have to report their audits, reports, etc. to the SFUO.
Elections for Federated bodies are going to be held in the coming weeks.
