I didn't vote. For the first time in my university career. I didn't think it was prudent to vote on behalf of someone else (incoming first-years) without their proxy.As a last year student Raamakers raised the question on whether last year students should be allowed to vote. It raises a good point as first years obviously don't have a say.
I don't really have an answer. But I do enjoy the intelligent response.

I understand Peter's remark, but I completely disagree. First-year students aren't even sure if they're attending this university yet.
To suggest that their "proxy" is necessary is incredibly unrealistic. They have no concept of what their proxy should even attempt to accomplish.
It falls incumbent on graduating students to use their wisdom, their knowledge of undergraduate student politics, to ensure incoming students aren't shafted by an incompetent crew of executive members.
I understand what you're saying. But I don't think it's my place to decide what incoming students think of as a competent crew of executive members; it might be a completely different idea than the one I have.
So instead of forcing my vote--which, judging by the ridiculous voter turnout, would go a long way in determing who's elected--I've decided to leave it up to the returning students to make decisions that they will have to live with.
