By-election campaign: Bollinger reacts to Haldenby Rally

Ben Bollinger who helped run the "YES" side for the Women's Resource Centre had something interesting to say following the rally.

UPDATE: Ben Bolliger. Sorry Ben.

Because a campaign without visibility via posters reaches out to all students.
Because campaigns with unilingual videos reaches out to all students.
Because campaigns that only visit large-population classrooms reach out to all students.

I support a candidate who uses multiple means to reaching out to students, involved and not. Class presentations, posters, blogs, rallies, and more - let's not demean the Haldenby campaign by treating this as the sole arm of outreach.

I know that Dean is the frontrunner, and he does do some conventional campaigning, and may come off agressive in his approach, but that's his determination, and his drive to get students to vote, and to get his ideas heard, and (hopefully) implemented! The thing is the other two candidates aren't even working hard enough to promote their ideas, or to get the vote out. If it wasn't for this blog you probably wouldn't even know who they are. I have yet to see a class presentation from the other two candidates, being in mostly public admin. classes, and I don't see their posters,no websites, no personal blogs, no facebook groups, no comprehensible videos and literally if I didn't read this blog, I'd see/know nothing about either of them! This doesn't discredit their ideas, but it means they need to work harder to get the messege of voting and their platforms out there.

Bollinger has noting to my Deaner! When I get the chance I am going to wash his mouth out with soap! How dare he say such things about this rally being staged! How else are you supposed to hold a rally!? Oh I do declare!

Now now, kids...Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

At least Ben had the balls to have a video taken of him expressing his opinion publicly, which is more than what can be said for all of the anonymous posters on this blog.

lol deans mom, *ahhnnnnnn*

Bens a good guy, he's just saying how he sees it. But I think one of the anons has it right: the more diverse the outreach strategy, the better.

Haha, I love this "Dean's Mom"...

Ben, to be honest, it was an idea that came to mind a day or so ago and I though it might be a good idea to get the excitment in this campaign flowing. As far as I have heard the voter turnout is not that well so far, and I have been working, and will continue to work very hard to try and increase it!

Also, it is important to note that I am doing a lot more than a "soap box" speech in this campaign and I think I have demonstrated that effectively.

GO AND VOTE!

-Dean

If you lay even a finger on my benny, you'll have more than a bar of soap to worry about, let me tell you! Thirty years of laundry are behind these arms, and you don't want me to give you the ol' rub-a-dub-one-two!

Don't you ever start with me missy! You Barrie women have nothing against me! Us Sarina women are much tougher than you will ever be! And you arms; laundry is all they are good for! Bam! Want another Ben's mom? Bam!

XOXO, Dean's mom

P.S. Dean, remember to take your nightly suppository. You don't want to be constantpated again. Not with this election! Oh I do declare!

Go start your own blog and stop spamming my son's.

It's not a campaign until Mothers are involved.

I don't see why everyone is talking about this Halden-berry character. My Benny is so handsome, he should be on the cover of all these news-y-papers, not this fist stuff. Looks like the kind of stuff a commie would put on there.

I'll give you the what-for, Sarnia! You're not even a city, and those frail little arms of yours is like twigs! Get off this blog, woman, before I show you how a real woman posts!

And I don't care for this Eliz's comments. I am not a stereotype - I am a ridiculous characiture.

caricature? the enlarging of true features?

or a stereotype? the contrivance of past truths?

I'll leave it to handmaiden mothers to figure out the difference, that is, after they are done doing the chores.

Hi,

Its Ben Bolliger, No « n »!
Firstly, I don’t think my comments were particularly Dean negative, just critical in general. I think it’s typical to have the same active students attend a rally and chant about low voter turn out. I think it takes real guts to be a relatively unknown and take on a candidate who has proven track record name recognition and dashing good looks. The other candidate is running a different campaign and that’s really positive. I love that this campaign has stayed so idea focused compared with last years gong show.

At any rate I was only waiting for PRD and had no idea I was going to be blogged. In the big picture, who really gives a shit what I think anyway! Now someone go fin Austin to take up the front page of the blog…he’s always got something to say!

Bolliger

Ps. To Deans mom. Sorry for the harsh words directed at your son. He is an upstanding young man, I would be proud to call my own.

Thanks for the plug for the PRD, Ben.
I saw Wassim there, and it would've been nice to get him to give us a shout-out as well - or at least sample our tasty, free, vegan food.
