I got word that roughly 11,5% is the latest voter turnout.
Assuming that number might grow slightly in the next two hours, we will end up with 12% to 12,5%.
We are talking about 3500 people voting.
Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.
Think about it. If 1751 people voted in favour of the U-Pass, 30 000 students might end up spending 250$ a year.
And this, despite the BOA elections.

I hate to say I told you so but: I told you so. This is mostly directed to Pam Hrick.
BOA elections have stimulated nothing, and will inevitably remove interest from people who previously would have run through their Federated Body for this position.
Maybe we should start appointing them, you know like real corporations do to ensure that those governing have a legitimate understanding of how a board should function... But, considering the exclusive and institutional bias of the SFUO that would just be ridiculous.
Lose-Lose-Lose and maybe students have finally recognized it? Or just a little more have since last year... Pessimism? Sure. There is certainly nothing to be hopeful about.
